Contact
Thirty minutes. No cost.
Tell Michael what your organisation does and what you are unsure of. He will tell you what you actually need, including if that is nothing.
Thank you.
Michael has your message and will come back to you himself. If it is urgent, or if a child is at immediate risk, contact An Garda Síochána rather than waiting for a reply.
If something has happened
Reporting comes first, always.
If a child is at immediate risk, contact An Garda Síochána. If a concern reaches the threshold under the Children First Act 2015, it goes to Tusla, and nothing on this page changes that or should delay it. If you are not certain that what you have is a concern, you do not need to be sure to report it.
What happens on the call
He asks, you answer, he tells you.
There is nothing to prepare. Michael will ask what your organisation does, who works with children, and what you already have in writing.
What applies to you
Whether the Children First Act 2015 covers your organisation, and what it requires specifically.
Where the gaps are
Plainly. If what you have is sound, he will say so.
What the work would cost
And what it would not.

Who you would be working with
Fifteen years leading Ireland's national child protection unit.
Senior Investigating Officer with An Garda Síochána, leading three national units: the National Child Protection Unit, the Sexual Crime Management Unit and the Online Child Exploitation Unit. Ireland's National Expert to Interpol and Europol on child safeguarding.
